Ethereum or Hyperledger?

If you had to pick one.... which would it be?

Both have their own uses. Hyperledger Fabric makes more sense for large corporations to collaborate together. Ethereum makes more sense if you want something decentralized.

At a very high level, Hyperledger Fabric is for "permissioned" networks (i.e. it's private and everyone on the network is a known entity) while Ethereum is a "permissionless" network meaning anyone can participate.

I can't remember who made the original reference, but think of it as having a hammer and an axe. Both are great tools but have specific applications (i.e. use cases). One wouldn't chop down a tree with a hammer or drive a nail with an axe! ;-)

Excellent analogy. Both are useful, but for different things.
